#47: Your Creativity, Your Courage: Revolt Against Hustle Culture

We’ve been told to hustle harder, grind more, and measure our worth by productivity. But here’s the truth: hustling isn’t resistance... it’s control. Your creativity is the real act of revolt.

In this episode, I explore why creativity is inseparable from justice, freedom, and survival. Drawing on the wisdom of Nawal El Saadawi, we’ll look at how systems of fear, trauma, and hustle culture silence imagination, and how reclaiming creativity becomes a form of resistance.

If you’ve ever felt drained by hustle culture, pressured to perform, or cut off from your creative birthright, this episode is your reminder: creativity is not optional. It’s survival. It’s revolt.

Who Was Nawal El Saadawi?

Nawal El Saadawi (1931–2021) was an Egyptian feminist writer, physician, and activist whose work challenged systems of oppression around the world. She wrote more than 50 books on women’s rights, creativity, politics, and freedom…works that were banned in some countries and celebrated in others.

El Saadawi believed that creativity is inseparable from justice. For her, imagination wasn’t decoration or luxury. It was survival, revolt, and freedom. She warned that when education and social systems kill creativity, they also kill the possibility of revolution.

Her words, “Without creativity, you cannot revolt, ”,continue to inspire artists, thinkers, and activists across generations.

Creativity is not optional. It’s not decoration. It’s survival. It’s your birthright.

When has your creativity felt like resistance?
