The Mind

The energetic & mental bridge between body & spirit.

Your mind is not only what you think. It’s the space where life-force energy (prana) moves through your senses, interprets what you perceive, and shapes what you choose next. It is as much energetic as it is mental.

Breath, sensation, and awareness animate it; interpretation, discernment, and state direct it.

When you understand these layers, you stop reacting from habit and start choosing from presence.

The Mind in Three Layers

Life Force Energy, Mental Energy, Intellectual Energy

Your mind moves through three layers, each influencing the others. Together, they determine whether you live from presence or from distortion.

  • Purpose: animate experience.

    • Breath carries awareness into every layer of the mind.

    • Subtle energy flows through the five vital energies (prana, apana, samana, vyana, udana) and is organized through seven primary chakras (energy centers) that influence different aspects of body, mind, and perception.

    • The quality of your breath and energy shapes clarity.

    • Imbalances in either the chakras or the vayus can affect focus, mood, vitality, and mental alignment.

  • Purpose: receive, experience, interpret, and choose.

    • Manas — Receiver of senses.

    • Ahamkara — Perceiver that says “I am…”

    • Buddhi — Discerner accessed through the pause.

    • Chitta — State/field tinting perception.

Watch for: klesha hijack (Avidya, Asmita, Raga, Dvesha, Abhinivesha).

Which function is speaking right now: sensation, story, or discernment?

  • Purpose: Transform interpretation into truth.
Keys: Presence awakens higher Buddhi—the clear, discerning mind.

Space (ākāśa) is the pause between reaction and truth.

In that space, awareness replaces assumption, and perception aligns with what is real.

Practice: Before responding, take one conscious breath and notice the space it creates.

Prompt: What is true beyond my first interpretation?

The I Am Loop

How each moment is constructed.

  • iIentity claim (pure Ahamkara or Ego/ Asmita).

  • Charge and Sensation

  • Choice Point (Pause or React)

  • Action that reinforces or transforms the start.

How you start is how you finish.
How you finish is how you start the next moment.

From where does my “I Am” begin? From presence or fear?
